Most mediations and arbitrations are, by their nature, private and confidential. In fact, confidentiality is a key factor. While I've resolved disputes between many parties including governments, landowners, rights holders, estates, beneficiaries and others, in most cases I'm sworn to secrecy respecting the details of those disputes and how they were resolved.
An exception is the attached public decision. In this case I was the Inquiry Officer appointed to make a recommendation regarding the expropriation of privately owned land for municipal services. This decision intrepreted NWT legislation for the first time and balanced private rights against the greater public good.
